The ITEM, Inc. (“The ITEM”) is a Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation formed in May 2015. The ITEM stands for The Inclusive Technology + Entrepreneurship Movement. We currently enjoy our tax exempt status through our fiscal sponsor Urban Affairs Coalition. 

The ITEM is singularly focused on human development as its core purpose. Whatever the direction the organization takes, we must always keep human development as our true north. Our goal is “Everyone we encounter, grows.”

Our current mission is to ensure all Philadelphians participate in our emerging technology sector. Our organization is designed to solve two pervasive problems in Philadelphia: poverty and unemployment. We have designed and offer a continuum of programs offering low cost, high impact career pathways into the emerging technology sector.
